Sprouts?… in a soup?


500g of sprouts and not a sprout lover in sight… so what to do with them…. what I always resort to when I have a glut of any vegetables…. Soup!

15pence for 2kg of carrots resulted in me trying out a recipe from the bank at work for Carrot, Ginger and Honey soup which was delicious . There were no sprout recipes at work, so I resorted to a Google search which brought up a BBC Food recipe for Sprout and Caramelised Onion Soup from Sophie Grigson.

I can vouch for how easy the recipe is to prepare…. the final soup?… well it looked sprouty… and tasted delicious. I reckon if you were feeling the need for meat, you could put some cubed bacon on the top.
